Peer liaisons to the Office of LGBTQ Resources, or “PLs”, are upperclassmen who help first year students discover the diverse wealth of support and activities available to Yale undergraduates. These student leaders help first year students adjust to campus life with a number of services and individualized support, including personal, social and academic guidance. Read about and contact current PLhere.

Group Discussions

The LGBTQ PLs host regular discussions on a number of issues relevant to first year students’ particular needs, including coming out on campus and at home and navigating the LGBTQ social scene at Yale. The PLs also host social events, including screenings of popular LGBTQ-themed TV shows and movies, and co-host events with Peer Liaisons from other cultural centers and other campus organizations.

One-on-one Meetings

LGBTQ PLs meet with students one-on-one, by request to discuss student concerns or just talk. Their extensive training equips them to help students with a wide range of issues related to sexual identity or direct them to appropriate resources.
