The Office for Graduate Student Development and Diversity (OGSDD) is firmly committed to building a supportive community in which graduate students from underrepresented backgrounds are empowered in their intellectual pursuits and professional goals. OGSDD was established with the knowledge that diversity among graduate students enhances the life of the entire scholarly community at Yale. OGSDD and the Graduate School recognize that a diverse student body is essential if the academy is to remain an engaged and relevant institution within its contemporary society.

When a child has questions or concerns related to gender, the entire family is affected. We are a safe, supportive resource and treatment center for gender-variant children, adolescents and young adults who are exploring their gender identity.
Our team, which includes doctors and mental health professionals, provides comprehensive, interdisciplinary, family-centered care for children, teens and young adults questioning their assigned gender and/or seeking gender-affirming consultation and treatment. We are committed to providing care in compassionate and respectful ways.
The Dean’s Advisory Council collaborates with other groups to cultivate visible supports and a vibrant, connected community of LGBTQI+ individuals and their allies at YSM. The Advisory Council helps guide the expansion of LGBTQI+ health research, and coordinates efforts to foster an inclusive, patient-centered environment in which tailored care is available for LGBTQI+ patients. Furthermore, the Advisory Council oversees initiatives that prepare our trainees to serve all of their patients with excellence, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
