Yale School of Medicine OutReach

The Yale faculty and alumni are committed to providing a supportive and engaging environment for LGBTQI+ students in the School of Medicine. In furthering this mission, the Dean’s Advisory Council on LGBTQI+ Affairs has created OutReach: an LGBTQI+ Faculty/Alumni-Student Engagement group. This group initiates activities with the goal of bringing LGBTQI+ faculty, alumni, and medical students together to interact and provide support in the form of mentorship and community.

Afro-American Cultural Center

Established in 1969, the Afro-American Cultural Center (“the House”) has a rich history of serving as Yale’s home away from home for its Black student body and all campus and local community constituents who wish to learn about and celebrate the cultures and traditions of the African Diaspora.

The House facilitates its community members’ success in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and advocacy through advising, empowerment cultural enrichment, educational programming, social development, and career preparation.
