The GALA Summer Fellowship provides a limited number of fellowships to pay for living expenses to allow students to work in unpaid internships for non-profit organizations working on political, economic, social or cultural issues that affect lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer people. This award is made possible through the generosity of an anonymous donor affiliated with GALA, the Yale LGBT Alumni Association.
Currently enrolled first year students, sophomores, juniors and seniors are eligible to apply.
Stipend support of $2500 is granted for a 6-8 week summer internship. The internship must be a full-time commitment and be the primary activity for the duration of the fellowship.
In your proposal, please address the significance of the issues you will be working on and also the role of the internship in your own development. Applications will be available on-line at the Fellowship Programs Office website site and must be submitted by early February.
For deadlines and information about submitting an application, please the Yale College Center for International and Professional Experience website.
Specific questions about projects should be addressed to Maria Trumpler at email@example.com.
